What is the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry?
All the activities of the CCI are regulated by the Law of Ukraine "On the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Ukraine".
The Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a member of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry, International Chamber of Commerce and World Chamber Federation, the Association of the Central European Initiative Chambers of Commerce and the Black Sea Economic Co-operation Business Council and it’s a non profit organization designed to facilitate the Ukrainian investments and the economic transparency.
All the Ukrainian entrepreneurs and companies are invited to register at the CCI. More than 9000 companies are registered in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry right now.
The chamber offers assistance to investors in performing economical transactions on internal and external markets and advises regarding the foreign market conditions. It’s also promoting the export of Ukrainian assets and services and rates properties.
As a member of the CCI, a company may choose the members of the Congress of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, may chose or be elected in the governing bodies, get all the assistance from the CCI in performing business and may raise any issues regarding the activities of the regional chamber of commerce and the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce itself.
The obligations of a company as a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is to pay on time the registration tax and the annual membership taxes, to give assistance to the activities performed by the Chamber, to respect the commercial legislation and not be a part of the unfair competition.
How can a company be registered at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry?
The registration in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is made voluntary. Any company willing to take advantage of being a member of CCI must register specific documents and pay a registration fee and an annual membership tax.
A company willing to be a part of the Chamber of the Commerce and Industry must submit the standard application and the registration certificate at the regional chamber of commerce and industry in the area where the company performs its business. The regional chambers of commerce and industry are present in all the 24 regions of Ukraine, and also in Crimea, Kiev and Sevastopol.
A company that wants to quit being a member of the Chamber must submit a written notice to the regional chamber of commerce where it was registered in the first place. The member is also excluded from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
A company may also be excluded if it fails to pay its annual membership contribution or if it doesn’t perform its duties.
